cubism

reflection questions:
1) On the first day we received this project, I looked through the provided references for photographic cubism, and was particularly inspired by the work of Stephen McNally. In all of his photographs, he took multiple images of landscapes and combined them into one, finished piece. I then decided that I, too, wanted to replicate this kind of cubism; however, I also don't leave my house. In the end, I decided to attempt to replicate McNally's style with a landscape from Overwatch's latest Assault/Two Capture Point map: Paris. Like McNally, I tried to use textures from the landscape to give the overall image texture.
2) I took 36 pictures! Not all of them were used in the end, but I'd say a decent amount of them were.
3) While I was progressing through this project, I only had one big issue: you can't naturally change the lighting of the Paris map. Of course, I could alter brightness and attack the piece with different angles, but it wasn't the same as the change in natural lighting. It also didn't help that I run the game on low video settings, including little to no shadows, because my computer can't handle it and run properly at the same time.
4) Given the opportunity, I would attempt to run the game with higher video settings for an atmospheric touch, and try to mess around with the lighting more so that there's a bigger contrast between the images.
